Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a computer-based program that we use to monitor reading practice and progress. Pupils take short quizzes in school after reading a book to check if they've understood it.

 

  • Accelerated Reader- Home Connect Click on this link to view your child's progress on Accelerated Reader through 'Home Connect'. You will need your child's log-in details- please contact the office if you don't have this information.
  • AR Book Finder Click on this link to see if the book that you have just read has a quiz on Accelerated Reader.

Our friends at Coram Beanstalk have created a short (just over ten minutes) animated film that looks at what people often think they should do, and then looking at what actually works best, when we’re helping children with their reading. We think you’ll find interesting, enjoyable and practical. The wider support you give your children with their reading at home is so important. You can give yourselves a thumbs up for all the things you’re already doing and perhaps pick up some new ideas to help you and your children share even more really positive reading experiences together.
