Telling the time is an essential life skill. By the end of Year 3, it is expected that all children should be able to tell the time to the nearest minute, using both digital and analogue clocks. We understand that some children will pick this skill up quickly, where as others will take a lot longer to be able to do this. As well as telling the time, by the end of K.S.2., all children should be able to convert between different time measurements (for example converting hours to minutes and minutes to seconds) as well as be able to calculate durations of time and read time tables.
Telling the time is one of those skills that is easily reinforced at home through regular practise and playing games. Here are some games that can help with these essential skills:
