The Art Award
Children at Sharmans Cross Junior School have the opportunity to gain Discovery and Explore Art Awards. The Art Award is a qualification recognising participation in the Performing or Creative Arts. Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it’s creative, valuable and accessible. Arts Award at Discovery and Explore level are run by Miss Pillinger during an afterschool art club.
Currently, Year 3 and Year 4 children are working towards their Art Award Discovery through art club on a Monday after school. We have been focusing on Aboriginal art. As you can see, we are all well on our way to achieving Arts Award Discovery and have now planned our final pieces. We are beginning to practise the skills we need to complete our final piece.
