Welcome to Sharmans Cross Junior School’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) page.
We are passionate about our school and helping the children be the best they can be. Over the years, we have raised money to help the school in many ways. Once a child joins Sharmans Cross Junior School, all of their parents, carers or guardians are automatically members of the PTA. We raise money through fun events and fundraising initiatives. Please have a look below on how the money we raise is spent and how you can help.
How the PTA has helped:
Over the years we have contributed towards / purchased the following:
Refurbishment of the school library including redecoration, furnishings and books
New books for all of the classrooms ‘book corners’
Beanbags for all classrooms providing a relaxing environment for children to read
Outdoor shelters
PA system
Playground equipment
Ipads
Friendship benches for both playgrounds
How you can help:
There are many ways that you can get involved that don’t take up a great deal of time.
School Lottery
The PTA is part of Your School Lottery. Tickets cost just £1 and each draw has the chance to win a main prize of £25,000. A percentage of each ticket sold is contributed towards PTA funds too! To sign up simply click here
Clothes bin
Having a clear out? Did you know that there are two clothes bins located in the car park? The funds that are generated from the clothes go directly to the PTA.
Easyfundraising
Do you shop online? Then you could be raising funds for the school by doing absolutely nothing! Easyfundraising is an entirely free service that allows people to shop online and raise a donation for their school cause once a purchase is made. Donations can be up to 15% of the value of your purchase, depending on the retailer and the item purchased. There are thousands of stores that are already participating with leading high street brands such as Asda, M&S, Sainsburys, John Lewis and more. Click here to sign up.
Events
We publish our list of events on the school newsletter each week. Here is a reminder of the events we have coming up for the remainder of the year.
The events cannot run without your help. We have two PTA groups - PTA committee for those looking to take on a larger role within the PTA and PTA Lite for those who would like to help but can’t commit to a committee role. For those with the PTA Lite group we will send a message out when we need help for an event, if you can help great, if not we will catch you next time.
