Physical Education
The Physical Education curriculum at Sharmans Cross Junior School aims to provide every child with the opportunity to apply, develop, and enhance their physical skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through a wide range of activities, children will not only build their athletic abilities but also understand the importance of physical fitness in promoting well-being. Our curriculum is designed to foster and develop communication and collaboration, encouraging students to work together in team sports and cooperative games, developing essential social skills and teamwork. This links heavily with our school’s PRIDE values.
We are committed to promoting and encouraging all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, to engage fully in P.E. Our inclusive approach ensures that SEND children receive tailored support, ensuring they can participate, develop confidence, and achieve their personal best. By fostering a supportive atmosphere, we aim to boost self-esteem and resilience in every child, ensuring that physical education is accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding for all.
Through our curriculum, we aspire to nurture children’s love for movement, help them set and achieve goals, and develop lifelong habits of physical activity that will contribute to a healthy, active lifestyle beyond school.
