Hello Year 4!
All your teachers are missing you! We want you to know that we are so proud of you all and of how you are organising yourselves and the perseverance you are showing whilst working from home! Well done.
We really enjoy seeing the work you have completed. Some of you have not sent anything for a little while, we know this doesn't mean that you are not working but might mean that it is tricky for your adults to find time to send us things. If you could find your favourite piece from the week and send it to us, that would be great - you don't have to send us everything or a long message if you aren't able to.
Thinking ahead to next week (week beginning 15th June) your adults have had the message below emailed to them so that they know about the book we are going to be studying together. Please ask them to read the message if they have not yet seen it.
From the week beginning 15th June, our English work in Year 4 will focus on the novel ‘Raven Boy’ by Pippa Goodhart (ISBN 978-184647-025-7).
We will provide chapters of the story (written and verbally recorded) for the children to read/ listen to as part of their English work.
We are giving you plenty of notice of this unit of work so that if you would like to purchase the book beforehand you can.
The story is set in 17th century London and discusses the life of people living through the ‘Plague’.
Please can you have a chat with your child about this beforehand so that they are prepared for this unit of work. As we are currently living through ‘Covid 19 pandemic’, we feel that some children might need a bit more support with studying this area. When setting the work, we will be mindful of the content of the lessons.
Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher to discuss this further if necessary.
We hope you have a great week!
